Looks like a female Baltimore Oriole to me...could also be a juvenile.

I'm amazed at these great pics of birds you get with the S1 IS. I went today to my local camera shop to try to get the teleconverter for my S1 IS. The sales person there said that they don't recommend them for this camera because it reduces the light too much. Have you had this problem? And where did you get your teleconverter--online? I want one despite the camera saleman.

I did get a monopod for my Canon 20D and will take my gear to a Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma early tomorrow morn and see if I can get some good bird shots. I think I'm going to have to save my pennies for a telephoto lens that has IS. Have lots to learn.

Bobber I haven't had any problems like that at all in fact in sunny days I have to step down 2/3 of a light stop just to not look blown out , sometimes I do get a blue tinge around branches but not to often , that is a problem that is related to the Converter ,,, just get it the hell with the salesman i'm sure you'll like it Thanx for the nice comments

And thank you to Stan and Phot_luver as well

Liv2, here is that Green Heron photo (I think) I told you about. I was really hoping to get a clear shot of him but a dog frightened him away. In a way I kind of like this shot just the same.
