Hello, this is my first post. These are some of my recent shots from my backyard, let me know what you think. I am trying to learn as much as I can, and I am only starting.
Taken with my SD100. I don't think they are too bad for a point and shoot.

I am a HUGE fan of color contrast. Though the composition bothers me a little in the top one (how the pedals are cut at the top, and the shadowing on the lower bit... Or the whole lower bit, itself), it's a lovely picture!

The light and colors on the top two are really something! As Spirit says though, the cropping is a bit too tight.

I like the 1st two, but the saturation is a bit high for me.
#3 doesn't work as the background overwhelms the blossom which is dark. In that situation, try this next time & see if it works for you.

Thanks for the comments.
I agree with the composition, I picked that photo first because I liked the angle/perspective of the flower. I do have another of the same flower, how is this one's comp?

PhotosGuy: Thanks for that tip on the 3rd one, I'll have to try it some time. (That flower was actually in the shadow of my house, oops.)
The 4th photo I just posted here is straight from the camera, other than a small crop and resize.
Does the saturation still look too high for you? I am just curious because I applied Auto Levels to the first photos and wondered if that was it.

MUCH better! So pretty.

It does seem high to me, but that's a personal preference. It is pretty! A lot of people are going for the Velvia look.
FYI, I really hate Auto anything! I think I get a more natural look when I tweak by hand. ;-)
