Hey guys, I was having fun with my cheap little canon 50mm 1.8 prime yesterday and took this pic in Black and white mode with a filter. I tried to do everything by the book. I metered on a grey card and tried to get good exposure. The light was coming from one window above the bath tub. I thought the picture kind of speaks to us guys that like to enjoy a little fun time with the ladies if you know what I mean?? LOL... Just thought I would share it with ya!

i like the angle of the image and the light coming from above-good planning on that.
for critique...i think planning to have the liquid fall onto the palm of her hand instead of in betweens the fingers would work better for the subject. good choice for bw.

You are right it would have looked much better in the palm! But, These werent planned shots. While she was preparing herself for a fun evening with her husband I was snapping the photos!! hehehehe..... I actually picked back up the camera when I saw her pouring the baby oil in her hands so it was quite spontaneous actually.. Thanks for you feedback!

The tonal range of the image is superb, in my opinion. The only highlights that are blown out are very small and look to be specular in every case, so I wouldn't worry about that. The mid-range tones are right where you want them and even though the shadows are dominant and without detail, they are effective that way. My only wish would be for a different aspect ratio - for me, the scene cries out for a bit more width in relation to the height.

Nice shot. You could probably crop a bit off the top & bottom to zero in on the action.

You guys are right on all accounts. I really posted this because I did this by the book in terms of metering. I thought the hidden message in the pic was worth showing you crazy guys! LOL.. I basically metered on the gray card facing up toword the window like her hands where facing. Before this shot I was taking pics of her wedding ring basically.
