I made it to the part of the last practice session today. There was no breeze at the smoke from the planes was hanging in the air making it very hazy.

This was my first time shooting planes. Lessons learnt; 1/160s is probably too slow a shutter speed for these planes, make sure you select the correct panning mode for the IS.

The red in #3 make the plane stand out in the haze.

Hopefully there is a breeze for the event so the pictures won't be hazy. I shoot props no slower than 200 and normally around 250.

Nice, I have similar shots from London a few years ago, but the background is way more cluttered. Those uniform blue skyscrapers make a good backdrop. No UK round this year though - boo!

a little too high, 160-200 is what I shoot/comfortable with, at least with the DSLR.... with the Point and shoot, its anywhere from 160-320 depending on lighting (overcast is/darker is way better - bright clear sun means higher s/s)

Not bad, but a bit on the soft side. Too bad the RBAR does not race at San Diego, CA this year, I shot the last three years. It is a fun time to be had but unfortunately this year no shooting for me.

Yeah...a little bit soft for my taste. A little more sharpness would help a lot.
