Here's a couple more farm buildings in the area. I consider these to be tonemapped since neither picture really had the need for multiple exposures due to high dynamic range. Both images were shot using 3 exposures at 2EV seperation.

Looking great! Which program are you using?

Thanks. I use CS4 to do the merge to hdr and photomatix for the tonemapping. I ALWAYS bring the tonemapped image back into photoshop for final adjustments such as noise reduction, curves adjustments etc.

Thanks.
Wolfden, can you describe where you see the CA on the first Image?
Here's one more.

the CA is along the roof lines of the roof vents and it looks like it may also be in the tree

I like what you did with these Gene.
I do find myself willing your camera to pan left ever so much in #1 though to keep the corner of the roof in the frame rather than the stuff that's far off at the back at camera right. Feels incomplete with that being clipped off.
FWIW, I don't see any CA at all and only minor Halo-ing.
Your process sure does good things for wooden textures!

Maybe this helps:
Getting a #1f1a9a color there, not really a purple, more of a blue

It's probably a very slight Halo from tone mapping.

Wolfden...OK, I just wanted to make sure I was seeing the same thing you were. I think I'm applying too much sharpening which makes any CA more obvious. I used both high pass sharpening and Topaz adjust clarity. The second image below I didn't apply either and it looks a little better to me.
I think you should change your username to "Hawkeye" :)

FlyingPhotog...Yeah, I really like shooting these old wooden buildings and bringing out the texture. The shot below is uncropped to show what is on the left. Leaving the barrel in is probably better than clipping the roof line.

Oh, here's a closer shot of the tractor. Wish the background hadn't been so cluttered. I should have tried to blur the background and shoot from a lower angle.
