I have seen lots of questions and complaints about soft photos and post processing advice. Here is a great article on why digital photos, no matter how great the camera, should be sharpened. I thought this would help answer some questions.

Bookmarked.. Thanks for the link. Although I use USM in PS I always feel I could be doing it better.

You've got to check out Mitch's awesome sharpening scripts for PS. I too have out grown my simple USM technique. These scripts are far superior ways to sharpen. Mitch uses Bruce Fraser's three pass approach. I highly recommend checking out these scripts. I've gone back to some of my old photos and this has really brought some new life into them.

I use RAW and then run them through the DxO program. Luminous Landscape use it and say it is fabulous, so do I. it corrects Barrel distorsion, faulty exposures , colour etc, I then load the image into P/S for resizing. EW.
