I hate to be "that guy" but my biggest "beef" with SMWYG and LMSYS is that fact that we're asked to put our very, very best work onto the World Wild Web without the safeguards that we normally take for granted.

I think I brought this up last year. SMWYG is judged anonymously so a watermark would tell the judges whose photo they are viewing while LMSYS is not.

I vote watermarks be allowed in LMSYS.

I believe Jay was asking for a generic LMSYS watermark. We could all put the same mark on our images. (Yes?) So they would not be completely unprotected. That would work for SMWYG and still be anonymous.
I am only just thinking about a watermark for my images so whatever the majority rules is OK with me.

This is exactly what I was thinking...

Just a big, fat, unembossed Arial Black LMSYS at like a 5% opacity.

Just something to deter people with bad intentions who like good photography. At least until they figure out Content Aware tweaking in CS5. :rolleyes:

Okay Judging recap.

The weeks judges will PM each other with their scores. The judge that scored the 1st place photo will resolve all tires. An example is how I do it. Which ever photo that received more lower scores gets the pass. (ie. 4-2-1 breaks a tie of a 3-2-2.) That is how I do it...you can do it as you see fit.

Scoring is as follows:

1=best (no flaws)
2=very good (minimal flaw in composure, exposure)
3=good (some flaws in composure,exposure but content outweighs)
4=mediocre but not good enough for contest purposes (flaws in composure, exposure and content does not outweigh)
5=why is this here?


The head judge (1st place photo from last week) tallys the scores and posts the results.

While it may be true for some, I just don't have anything worth a damn to post. I'm on vacation in Hilton Head this week though, so maybe I'll have something soon. I did snap some shots of gators while out golfing today, but they aren't very good. I decided it was better to not get too close... :D
