Anyone still shooting (concerts/bands) with a 1D2n? I have searched the forums for sample images (performing arts) especially at ISO1600 and found a few, but would like opinions from users as to whether it would work well combined with a 5DII...
Thanks

ill still use mine, but have gone to a mkIII for alot of low light stuff as of today, as i wasnt 100% happy with the mkII at any iso over 1000.

All of the concert photos in this gallery were shot with either a 1DMkIIn or a 20D:

You can "mouse over" the shots and click on the "info" tab that pops up to see the EXIF. In general, the wider shots are with the MKIIn and the more close-up shots are with the 20D, pretty much everything shot at ISO 1600 or 3200. I don't use any "real" noise reduction, just the LightRoom 2 default.
I've recently upgraded to 1DMkIII, but have yet to shoot a concert with it. The MkIII certainly handles noise much better than the MKIIn, but I don't mind having a little noise in my concert shots anyways.
If your biggest concern is noise, then you may be a little disappointed in the MkIIn when you compare it to the 5DMkII. I personally think the noise is more than acceptable at ISO 1600, especially for concerts.

I use a 1D2 (not a 1D2N but they are literally the same camera except for the screen) for performing arts as my primary body and a 20D as a second/backup body.

For examples of what the 1D2 can do at ISO 1600 for dancing. I'll be having another gallery going up soon from a show from last week that was really dark that pushed the 1D2 to the limits for ISO and AF.
Personally I think the 1D2 and 5D2 would make a great combo for performing arts.
