A group called So Timeless performed at a friend's wedding. I'm new at this so constructive c&c is always appreciated.

I'd try bouncing the flash and drag the shutter a bit more.

That being said: First three are not bad.

I tried bouncing the flash on the ceiling but I couldn't get enough light so I tilted my flash at 45 degrees and got better results. I don't have a diffuser but that probably would have helped. When you say drag the shutter, do you mean longer shutter speed? Thanks for the advise!

Didn't look at the EXIF before, did now. (Since you said the flash didn't deliver enough power when bounced)

1/200 sec, f/8, ISO 800.

Why??? You don't need that much DoF. Certainly not for the "solo portraits".

If you'd used f/4, that would have gained you two stops of ambient. And double the flash reach.
ISO 1600 gains another stop, and more flash reach again.

Use 1/60s and that's another 1 2/3 stops of ambient.
Might have gotten away with hardly any flash...

I guess those settings worked out for me earlier in the evening when there was more light. I need to learn how to adjust as the conditions change. Sometimes my mind doesn't think fast enough while I'm shooting but that should improve with more practice. Thanks for the tips!
