A few more pics from the Spring Nationals in Baytown, Texas. All shots taken with a Canon 7D with a Canon 100-400 in TV, Shutter speed 1/400. The push pull zoom works great when zooming all the way out to catch them coming off the line then pulling back to pan with them going by. Comments welcome.

Wow,really great stuff,they show so much detail and great exposures and colours.

Cannot believe the tyre movement .

Super job on the panning. Shots still nice and crisp. Tried that last year, but the top-fuel dragsters moved WAY to fast for my rookie panning technique. You've got it down cold! Most excellent.

the top-fuel dragsters moved WAY to fast for my rookie panning technique. You've got it down cold! I was out of practice and the first day I kind of sucked...lol. On days 2 and 3 it got better, had lots of practice by then. Thanks for the comments.

my god !
i live right next to wsid dragway sydney and go to nearly all the top fuel meets!
we are cracking on average 4.5 sec qtrs
and yet i have never seen a tyre distort like that!
nice pics.:)
they must be so close to bursting.:rolleyes:
