Guys, I need your opinion on these two photos.
My wife got inspired in one photo I took once, of an indoor statue we have, while the afternoon sun was lighting it, and wants to paint one of the two shots I did today with her chosen composition.

Soo, questions are:
-Are they any good?
-If so, which would work better?

Any feedback is very welcome.

i say first the lantern is distracting in the second, and she could always brighten it up a bit on her own. but i really do like that firs one!

WOW! tough choice, I think if she can capture it and maybe subdue the lanten light just a little, No. 2 would have to be my choice.

Thank you Martin, Kate and Sandy,

#2 is winning and is also the one she is a bit more partial to.

The light in the first is sunlight and this has been a good study for me since it is now clear to me that the sunlight has some magic sweetness but the candle light casts some reds that make it more cozy.
The candle is to bright in the web version but not that much in the printed version. As you say she can also brighten or make darker as she pleases.

It seems the 2nd will be the chosen one.
Thank you for your input. It realy helps. ;)
