Hello,
If I own a 420EX and a 580EX, I can use the 580EX as a master on my camera's hot shoe and the 420EX on a stand as background light or air light as slave unit.
I think it would be nice to have the 580EX on a stand with umbrella as well, so that I can move freely, for doing this I am thinking to get a Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2.
Apart from flexibility due to the fact that I can put the 580EX where I want, do I get any other advantage from the Transmitter ST-E2?
My standard indoor portrait set up will be the following:
- 580EX on a stand with an umbrella at my right side
- ST-E2 on the camera
- 420EX to illuminate the white background
With the 420EX I have no way to manually regulate the amount of flash, so how can I achieve a background with 2 stop overexposed, while the main subject is correctly exposed by the 580EX. Does the Transmitter ST-E2 help with this? If so, how?
Sorry for the easy questions, but I am trying to learn.
Thank you.
