My great niece performed in this recital and I was happy with this shot despite the light/distance limitations. (50D gripped, ISO800, 5.6, 1/160 plus 580 EX II from about 80 feet).

Then having some time to play with this in PS CS4, I applied the cutout filter for an interesting artsy effect.

the original shot - who is your niece? 1/60-1/125 would be fine if you use flash.
sorry but this sfx doesnt work for me in this shot.

My niece is the one on the right with her eyes open and upward to the conductor.

Question back to you: how do you see this shot changing by extending the Tv? (Note that the 580 was on-camera and in auto mode.)
