Cross Country Trip!!

Hello all!! Tomorrow morning, my wife and I are starting our cross country road trip (From Raleigh, Nc to 29 Palms, Ca), and I'd like to know of some good landmarks and destinations to take some snap some photos at! Are there any places that really stand out in your mind that would have a breathtaking view or captivating scenery? Let me know! I'll post pictures up along the way of what I shoot, and I hope to try my hand at some long exposure shots as well! I'll be shooting with a Canon Powershot SX120IS and a tripod when needed. Thanks for your input in advance!

You didn't give us much time. Will you be checking in as you go? How long have you allotted for the drive?

Great Smokey Mtn Nat Park & Grand Canyon come to mind

Yea sorry I couldn't give more notice. We just almost to Bristol, TN. We got pictures of Pilot Mtn and some of the other mountains out here. We are planning on taking 8 days to get across, and the Grand Canyon is on our list along with Oklahoma City, Little Rock, and Four Courners. Also, any tips for shooting the Canyon during sunrise/sunset? And is it possible to shoot a decent long exposure with the camera I have? Thanks alot!
