Hi,
Im almost ready to get my 350D and I was wondering what format you guys would recomend for my first time out with the camera. Im thinking either JPEG or JPEG+RAW as I have no experience with RAW yet, but I am interested in shooting mainly RAW. However, as the first time out with it, do you think its safer to shoot JPEG+RAW or should I even bother using RAW the first time?
Thanks for all the help.
matt

Depends on what size memory card you have. If you have enough space then by all means RAW+L-JPG. This will give you the ability to look at your images immediately and to then compare them with the manipulations you make to the raw images when you get curious about raw images.

Shoot JPG until you understand RAW. Do some test shots, some on factory default, some with sharpness and/or saturation increased. Read this book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0321334094/qid=1121205803/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/102-9127707-6895351?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) if you want to shoot RAW, it's a great book.
