This is about due west of CastleRock, CO and NorthWest of Colorado Springs in Rampart Range. The first image of the huge boulder is on the rampart range road on the way to Devils Head. The fence posts below it are probably 3 feet high, so the boulder is about 20-25 feet high and balanced on three smaller rocks. The Views are on the way up/down (unfortunately is was quite hazy today) and the Tower is the Building on top of the small mountain I hiked to get there. They say you can see 100 miles in every direction, it is used by forest rangers to spot wildfires.
The last one is of Red Rocks Ampitheather just outside of Denver in Morrison shot from the next ridge (dinosaur ridge) over. The seating is between the two slanted rocks with the stage(not visible) at the bottom. You get an incredible view of the Denver lights at night from there (or the sunrise over denver).

Another view and the "tower" itself. I also took a pic of the rangers "private" quarters, but it was a bit blurry and I don't think she'd appreciate the inclusion of her thong underware which was hung out to dry. :)

What the heck, two more -- the trail up (on an easy first section) and one move view from along the trail. Hazy hazy hazy...

Neat shots, Kenny, but the part I like best is: You climb to this remote firetower and the rangerette shows you her thong underwear?

Nice shots Kenny, is this hike a difficult one, I am thinking about the kids here not me, do you think a 12 yr old and 2 10yr olds coould hike it?

Love the view "a hundred miles in all directions" i'd like to visit just for that..............Joe

Oh, yeah, I've hiked worse by far, I'm just out of hiking shape, but there were tons of kids -- even 5/6 y.o. and under that were hiking it. It's probably at most a mile, lots of step and well taken care of so it shouldn't be a problem.

The worst part was actually that Rampart Range Road, it's dirt and washboard all the way!
