I'm looking for a little community opinion here. I'm going to print my first ever photographs that I've taken. I'm going to print 2 or 3 at 20x30.

If anyone would like to browse through my flickr and post up 2 or 3 that you think would look good in print I'd be eternally grateful. These are going to be for my living room and will be framed. There is plenty to look through so for those that post, I thank you in advance for taking the time to browse through them.

Thanks all!! Cheers!!

If they are going on your wall why not pick your favourites?

The biggest fear I've got is not being familiar with the qualities that will make an enlarged print worth looking at. That's why I haven't pulled the trigger just yet.

I think a lot of it would depend on your room's decor.

Not knowing the room it will go into makes it pretty hard to pick out which pics to recommend.

Thanks for the link, that's a good read. I'm really not putting together a portfolio though. I'm just looking to print a couple for the wall.

6981 and 6953, I would go though some PP to make them looked like abstract art.

This is impossible, you have far too many photographs in there to browse through and I have no idea what your interests are. Night buildings? Baseball? Neon-writing long exposure? And since it sounds like you've never had one of your photographs printed before, why not start a little more conservative than a very large framed print for above your couch?

Because there's usually a bit of image tweaking to fix it up especially if your computer screen is not calibrated. Just don't want you to spend $30 on 20"x30" prints and have you be disappointed with the results. People often seem to have problems getting good prints when they start out having prints made either by a pro lab or on their own printer.

I can certainly reason with your logic. When I stated I haven't printed anything I've done, I meant large enough to hang on a wall. I've run a couple through my home printer on 8.5x11 photo paper and they look pretty good. I just think it's time to show off a little of what I've done on the walls. Online I'm finding 20x30's for $17-$20 in a basic gloss print so it's not a scary expense. I'm mostly just looking to figure out if any of the stuff I've done is print worthy.

Narrow it down to half a dozen or so of your favorites and then post a poll with the pictures posted inside the thread,,, you'll get a lot more feedback that way.

Avoid "glossy" prints for anything going in frames, because they are reflective by nature. Better go with a luster, semi-gloss, or high end matte paper.

Good idea there. Not sure how I didn't think of that one. Thanks!!!
