Ha, didn't even realize this, but one of my photos was an editor pick from June last year. Never knew it, just found out about it by searching on voxseek.com for my name, and it turned up.

My first words when I saw the pic....WOW! The second, wow! again! Awesome picture! I got to ask....did you use some kind of light to illuminate the boat, or just available light?

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I was a bit surprised, to say the least.

Yes, it was a long exposure on a full moon. I shot this shot over 8 nights across three months of full moons. I was battling winds the first two full moons, which brought clouds which ruined the shot I was going for. On the 3rd month's full moon, I was rewarded with perfect conditions and finally got the shot I wanted.
Interesting note, about two weeks after I got this shot, this ship was removed and dragged out to sea and sunk as an artificial reef, so I got lucky. ;)

Thanks guys.. yes, it is kind of a fitting photo in light of the oil spill. Maybe I should try marketing it to the larger magazines and see if they want to use it in conjunction with a story about the oil spill?
