Firstly, apologies to Glenn for attending a drifting event! It was a comission so very little option.

Oulton Park hosted the European Drift Championships and Time Attack this weekend. As part of the day's events there was a demonstration of truck racing by the two drivers leading the championship. Now this wasn't really racing, just a demo.

From information given, coming down from Hill Top they both should have headed in the same direction - turn right. Dave Jenkins (silver truck) did start to turn right but Mat Summerfield (blue) went straight on and his 5 ton 1000bhp truck demolished Dave's. Cost for this - at least £50K as it was a write-off. It also held up the event as the circuit isn't really equipped to easily shift these monsters.

Here is a picture of the moment of impact:

Here is the Drift winner. Taken with 7D and 17-40L:

Oh, and Dave's truck in the morning when it was still intact:

Proper racing in a couple of weeks thank goodness.

Lovely shots there Ken - Well done with capturing the trucks colliding also! I reckon Dave Jenkins might like a copy of that photo to submit as evidence for his insurance claim

I attended the Snetterton round of Modified Live last year, and saw these cars and trucks. It was my first time at a drifing event, and I must say I quite enjoyed it (maybe I shouldn't say though!!!!!).

Great shots.
