I was at the race Track yesterday and shot some Bikes with my 7D and my 100-400mm,panned at 1/ 125 s and mostly at 400mm,thought i`d share some with you.no crops applied Critics and tips are always welcome.

Very nice sharp images, may be a little dark for my taste. I would maybe lifted the mid tones .

Nice shots and they look like nice sharp pans.

for #1 and 2 I would crop closer to the back wheel and open up the crop in front of the bike. For racing I like to crop to show the bike has room to move in to.

Thanks for the invite to check out your work. Definitely you look to have what it takes and I will make a couple suggestions.

With bikes... you can start at 250 and go as high as 400 and still have great blurrrrr of the wheels but capture truly hypodermic-needle sharp images. The comparison to Tack is worn out... and I think the 7D can be sharper than a tack at times!

If you are panning a bike that is going downhill or up hill you have to move in the same plane as the machine. Keep that in mind as you are following the subject. Watch with your AF on button pressed and then as the rider gets to the zone where you want to take the capture... get him!
