Every circuit or race track has something that's immediately identifies it and its location. With Teesside Motorsport Complex, it's this angle that shows Roseberry Topping in the background.

The shot was taken with a Canon 7D and a 400mm f5.6 L.

Any comments or feedback appreciated.

Simon.

Hi Simon

Great shot, love how clear and sharp you get all your images.... Was the karting on at the weekend ? Where do you get the dates from for the karting ?

What a fantastic shot Simon - the best Karting shot I think I have ever seen on here if I am honest. The quality of your work is just outstanding. So pin sharp with lovely blurred backgrounds.

Fantastic work once again.

I don't mean to be rude, but I would really appreciate your C&C on the second set images I posted in the thread below. I have recently tried a new PP / Workflow technique and would welcome your comments on the resulting images.

Also, Thanks very much for the reply to my PM last week. I really appreciate your detailed response - it was really helpful. I used your advice the on my last visit to Snetterton and have posted some photo's from the event here if you would like to have a look: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=861472

Please excuse the over saturation of the shot in the thread above though. I made the mistake of using my laptop to PP my RAW files, and the monitor obviously doesn't reproduce colours accurately. Might pay you to put your sunglasses on before viewing them!

Cheers

Great shot. Low angle works great. Its difficult to get such clean and nice bg on frame.
For my taste its tad too tight crop. Id like to see bit more space on left, the direction where he is going. Love that reflection on visor

Thanks Vesa, glad you like it :D.

There's a good reason for the tight crop. There's a set of very ugly orange traffic cones just out of frame both left and right on these shots. I did not want them in the shot, and hence had little choice but to shoot good and tight.

Thanks Alan.

The karting was on a couple of Sunday's ago. I think there's quite a bit goes on at Teesside Autodrome, but this particular event was a 1 hour ironman even for Stockton Motorclub. I've photographed their events for them for a couple of years now.

Thanks Kev. Glad you like the shot :D.

I'll have a look at the shots in the linked thread and post some comments. I've not been around too much lately as we've just got a 9 week old pup which is taking up a lot of my time just now.

Cheers,

Simon.

Nicely shot.. you can feel the intensity.

The angle makes it work. The background is a plus

Did you prefocus on that corner or does the 7d focus that fast?

No pre-focusing here Theramed. The 7D was easily capable of focusing and tracking that quickly.
