Great start. As I'm still learning take what I say with a grain of salt. The first one is good but when I shot at that level I tended to lose the babies entire cheek or lose much of the focus which I didn't like. I came up just a bit got the BG in the shot and the the baby and it worked for me. There was someone whom suggested that I should have gotten lower but it just didn't work for me.
The second is also good you were able to not blow out the blanket which has been a nightmare for me!
At the end of the day if you are personally satisfied with your work that is all that matters!!

I love the first shot! The blurred grass makes an excellent backdrop. I don't have a studio or lighting, so I'm always looking for a good setting. My second daughter is due in July and I'm definitely using that idea!

The focal point in the first seems to be the nicely focused frog on the jumper, the baby's face is obscured by his hand and isn't in great focus.
The second is a decent conversion, but there are what looks like sun hot spots and again, focus is lacking.
