Well, these pictures are still coming off the CF card, but I processed a few to make front-of-house pictures for the company.

This is Disney's Beauty and the Beast, being performed by the Lyric Club, Glasgow (http://www.lyricclub.net/). Really enjoyed the dress rehearsal. Were I not performing myself in Jesus Christ Superstar (http://www.thelimelightproductions.co.uk/) this week I would be going along to this show with the kids.

Equipment: 5dII with either 24-105 or 70-200mm f/4.0 (gonna have to get an IS version of that lens soon)

Nice set.
I like the motion blur in some.

Oversharpened though.

A year ago I shot at our local Beauty&Beast performance, It is allways fun to see how different the same story can be put on stage

Given your lenses the stage lighting must have been pretty generous. I like these except that oversharpening is quite evident (what I'd call "fairy dusts"typically on hair)... What ISO did you use?

Thank you for your kind comments. I totally agree that I over-sharpened them; indeed I looked at them the morning after posting them and cringed at what I had done! My only excuse is that it was late and I didn't look at the versions I posted on Flickr as closely as I should have!

The lighting for the show varied throughout. #1 is a very generous 1/320s, f/4.0 at ISO 1600... #4 is 1/160s at ISO 6400 (still f/2.0) and #5 is 1/125 at the same ISO.

I don't really like #5, but I was quickly putting together a few that could be used for front-of-house pictures and was grabbing half-decent ones as they came off the CF card... maybe I should have waited for a better one!

It did seem to be a really fun show. I'll be taking part in it myself in October, so shall be able to report back on how much fun it is to do!

In the meantime, I've learned to be much more careful with my sharpening :-)
