Whoops - sounds like I've started one of those proverbial "black vs. silver" debates. Believe it or not, that was a pretty hot subject a year or so ago. :)

Just saw the finish of the 20th stage of Tour de France, good for the ol' man to win a stage as well on his last Tour!

What I saw after the race was that his girlfriend, Sheryl Crow, had a Canon EOS Digital camera strap around her. Unfortunatly I couldn't see what camera she was wearing :(
I was thinking though, we should send her a POTN strap... don't you think she'd like that? Maybe next time someone hacks Paris Hiltons phone we can get Sheryls number and ask her!:lol::lol:

What a terrific athlete Lance really is. I've been following the Tour on TV and saw him take the stage win today in fine style. Paris tomorrow and, hopefully, a seventh consecutive Tour victory for the great man.

I hope all of America will be proud of him.

David :)

Yeah, I've never found cycling interesting before, because it is a rather weird sport in many ways. But you have to give them credit for one thing, and that is how EXTERMELY tough it is, they are true athletes! Too bad Lance is quitting after the race tomorrow, since the Tour is really all about the other cyclists trying to reach his level. He is worthy of all the credit people give him, what he has achieved is nothing short of amazing!
*bows in the direction of Paris for mr. Armstrong* :D

Lance will win, the final stage is an "honor" stage, all of the riders acknowledge the winner and allow him to win with ease - it is about paying respect. Watch and you will see.

Yes I saw her too, and it's a Drebel with the 18-55 kit lens.
I'll be on the Champs Élysées tomorrow for the final arrival. ;)
But after 3 weeks of very sunny and hot weather, I'm afraid we may have some rain... :(

Yep, go Lance!! Hey, I have shot with most of the top of the line cameras and the 300D is a great camera. I'm sure she isnt as nuts about specs and things like most of us are. I'm sure she is happy to be shooting with such a fine camera and we shoudlnt be telling her otherwise! LOL.... (I must say, it would be nice to see it in black though!) heheheheh

Real people just need a tool to capture images - the 300D does that VERY well - members of this forum and their lust for the latest and greatest are not a good cross section of the camera buying public......

She's probably not a serious photographer. The rebel line is probably well suited for her. Just because you have money doesn't mean you always need to buy the best and most expensive items.

the question should be- which lens is she using?

Looks like the kit lens to me.   Now she could afford some mighty fine L glass.

I thought it looked like the kit lens too- now that is the issue when shooting the tour de france!

It is probably silver to match her ear rings.

I don't expect someone other then a photographer to have a 1-series, there is no green mode button on it (come to think of it it doesn't have an onboard flash either) I was robbed :) 8) :)

And it is a DSLR not a P&S, that's better then a lot of folks.

I like the product placement of the strap as well.

Somebody needs to teach her to cradle the lens and to work against gravity not with it so she can have greater images from her insiders circle !
Hey at least she has good enough taste to be a Canonite !;)

Hmmmmmmmmmm! could that be a FREEBE from Canon to promote there product?    Say it isn't so.

Thank you, EOSAddict! Frankly, these comments bashing the 300D are annoying. I don't look down my nose at your choice of camera, please don't do so to mine.

The 'bashing' of the silver 300D is nothing more than good humour and should be taken that way.

When the camera was first released there were some fantastically funny threads debating camera colour (and on to lens colour...etc) and the majority of the camera colour jokes you see now are a throwback from those days.

Anyone who is worth their salt knows that the colour isn't important, so why don't we all lighten up a bit :) :)

Not really. In Tour last stage is one of most important stages for sprinters. There's not so many who can say "I won in Paris" afterall. They usually don't attack and winner of Tour is driving around celebrating but I don't remember overall winner would ever win last stage of Tour... or any other biger races (Giro and Vuelta). Ok at least after they moved tt race from last day to previous dates.

Hey!

She DID get a real Camera.. she bought Canon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is probably just smart enough not to buy more than her use and skill level require ;)
(unlike many of us..)

She does need some long "L" glass though for those photo finishes

Like I said earlier, the way she posed with all the Canon labels facing out I think Canon gave it to her for advertising.  kripes they probably paid her to use it.

She looks like a chimper to me...but she'd probably say she was checking the histogram like everybody else does when busted chimping.
