What's sleep?
Here are pics of a bicycle mechanic's hands- after a very very long day of work.

Which works better, b&w or color? Suggestions?
Thanks!

hey,
the first one works fine for me, very nice tones and composition...
the rest (with all respect) I don't really like...the composition is a bit "stressy", I prefer the more natural feel of the first...
thanx for sharing,

Agree with the previous post, the first shot looks natural with the hands at rest after a hard day, suits b&w perfectly, the others look.....unatural.

Agree, top one is best hands down (IMHO).
I like it. :)

I like these shots! I guess I can relate to it, being an amateur bike mechanic myself. I sure know about the grimy fingernails, greasy hands and various cuts and nicks. Do you have a photo that shows the hands at work, perhaps holding a tool or grasping a wheel - anything that will show that he indeed works on bikes?

Black and white - throw in some grain, give it an aged look. That will add character and interest.

I like the first one, too. But the comp in the second is very interesting - lots of tension, emotion. A greater DOF would have helped it be a winner, color or mono.

Thanks for the responses! I suppose I should have made two different posts becasue the first one is very different from the others. I'm going to play around with them a little and repost tonight.
B.B. I should mention that they are my hands, so as of yet I don't have any shots w/ tools, but it is something to consider. It was an explanition for my hands being so dirty- as work does that.

Cool shots, but some a little too soft for my taste
