I will be doing a first time NIGHT TIME photo shoot for my friends cars. I dont have lighting gear but the place we will be going has light lamps. i hope you guys know what i am talking about. The yellow/ halogen type lights that are in parking structures. Yes i will be having a tripod. My questions are:

1.) what should i do to get the best results?
2.) settings? ( i will bring a 28-135mm and a 17-40l i know its a slow lens)
3.) Pictures if anyone has any?
4.) what happens if i use my 430ex pointed directly at the car but the power turned down?

i cant think of anything else but any input would be greatly appreciated!

1.) what should i do to get the best results? & 3.) Pictures if anyone has any? In a garage? You're really making the job of making a car look good hard. Look at some of the shots in The automotive strobist setup pic thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=774069)
2.) settings? ( i will bring a 28-135mm and a 17-40l i know its a slow lens) Start with this Need an exposure crutch? (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=89123) &...
4.) what happens if i use my 430ex pointed directly at the car but the power turned down? ...balance the strobe to get what you need. The yellow/ halogen type lights that are in parking structures. Bear in mind that sodium lamps don't have any color in the spectrum except yellow.

Good luck.
