View Full Version : anyone using the Nikon D5000 in quiet mode?

The Nikon D5000's quiet mode is supposed to be phenomenal, can anyone confirm this? I have a superb old Nikkor 300 f/2.8 (which would turn into a 500mm on a crop factor body) and was considering buying the D5000 just for use at events ($500 body only)

Can you stick it up on youtube? Im interested in seeing it also as I know someone who is looking in to the d5000

It is quiet but you can still hear it. I went to get my sony and just remembered my mom took my battery...but I am going to go buy a point and shoot, hopefully I can find the sony tx5 tomorrow. I am going to look on youtube now to see if anyone has posted one.

Okay on youtube look under Nikon D5000 release modes...he doesn't demostrate quiet mode til the very end but he demonstrates all the modes. Sorry, I will add his name, it is the one made by hazardteamck.
