Recently purchased a Canon G3. Am taking photos of paintings for a slide presentation.
1. Taking inside with indirect artificial light.
2. Pictures are vertical with black velvet backing.
3. Photos are very crisp and clear.
4. Yellow's are pretty good. Mustard yellow's come out more yellow than their actual brownish tint.
5. Red's are pretty good. Could be a deeper red.
6. Dark blues are very good.
7. Greenish blues (like ocean water) are giving me fits. They come out a beautiful sky blue.
8. No flash is used.
9. I have tried auto, day light, clowdy, tungsten, fluorescent, flash, and custom white balance while in the TV mode.
The blueish green colors still come out a beautiful sky blue. The color I see through the LCD monitor is more sky blue than the actual blueish green in the painting.
Any suggestions are most welcome as I am new to photography.
Thanks,
Tom Huxley
