I'm so happy I found this forum and I hope that you can help me with a big problem I have with premier.

I have some video clips taken with a small digital camera (not a camcorder). I want to use these clips which are currently in AVI format with 320 x 240.

The problem I have is that I keep getting black spaces around the clips when I use Adobe premiere to edit my clips!

Before I forget, the final product is going to be a DVD movie 720 x 480 which I will use Adobe Encore to burn...

So my second question is ....can I turn these clips into a frame size of 720 x 480? what is the ideal project settings for such a project.....please help me out.

the resize of the video will make it suck, honestly

your best bet is to keep it framed in black, @ your dvd size, or try some compositions with several videos around the 720x4xx work area

if you still want to resize the video, there's an effects palette where you can choose scale, and scale it up, but it wont look good

Hi Flak,
Where is this palette? is it it in premier? where can I get it from?

yes, it's a default palette, iirc it's hidden under the clip edit tab, it's called effects
