Hi all,

(Advice required from US citizens regarding shooting in public places in Miami)

At approx 11:00am onwards:
Last week I decided to visit Brickell Key / Key Brickell in Miami to take some photos from the bridge on the way to the Mandarin Hotel.

I was actually on the bridge taking photos of the skyline, either-side of the bridge, when the Security Guard from the Mandarin Hotel approached me and stated that photography on this bridge is prohibited and that photos of the hotel are disallowed.

Can anyone advise me if this is correct or not.
Or is the Security Guard just scaring me away in case I snap a celebrity loitering about?

He is full of it. I have never been on that bridge but short of military installation or nuclear facilities, as long as you are on public property, the guard can not legally prohibit you from taking pictures of the hotel.

I agree, he's full of it...so long as you don't interfere in vehicular or pedestrian traffic you are fine.
