Greetings from Australia.
Came across this site through Goooooooogle, and it's just what I've been looking for. Had a good surf around the site and decided to join up.
I'm an EOS user from years gone by and have gone digital in the past 12 months. Fortunately my lenses all carried over. Pity about the non-Canon flash though. I own a 300D with the 18-55 lens supplied, a Canon 28-105 USm and a Canon 75-300 USM zoom. Nice little package. Put a BG-E1 battery pack/grip on the base and attached a wrist strap to it.
Looking forward to shooting the breeze with everyone, exchanging ideas and tech talk, and more importantly showing off Oz.

Be careful here. This forum is addictive. I see less of my wife and kid now. My bank balance is trembling and I can't keep my mind off things photographic. My temperature is rising with 'L' fever, and the never ending quest for the perfect set up is becoming all consuming.....
Actually, I NEED HELP!!

Thanks guys (and gals?). I was on another site for a while (won't mention it for fear of retribution) and could not believe the 'holier-than-thou' attitude and double standards set by the administrator. Told him so and asked him to delete me from their memory! Sheesh. Anyway, who needs them when I have a Canon. Actually, I started with my first digital about 6 years ago at work. A Sony Mavica that ran on a floppy drive. Got about 18 low resolution shots a disc. And that cost my department nearly $2,000:00 then. My first digi was an Olympus Camedia C750 which my wife has commandered but she lets me take into the field or on jobs as a back-up. Ah - she's so kind.

I'm going to one of the Ashes tests in a few weeks time, so I'll try and get some pics to make you feel at home! ;)

Damn. Now that's what I call friendly. Thanks guys (and gals?). I get your locations from your ID and avatars, but XUXU1 has me intrigued - no location! Here in Oz an XU1 was one of the hottest street and track cars about 30 years ago. And slicendice I'll do a deal with you. Only send me cricket pics if YOUR SIDE is winning. (Should make you feel good). But on that basis I don't think you'll be sending ANY!!!!

Actually when the test is over and we've retained The Ashes we don't want him back here.
