Its similar to what I gave at my wife about one year after the wedding as our engagement ring. :D I like to do things out of time, sometimes :D
She'll love it. ! Good luck !

Oh man, you should TOTALLY print that, then frame it and give her the picture. The back of the picture would have writing leading her on a teasure hunt to the ring. But don't stop at just your home... Make her run all over the city looking for the next clue (which would eventually lead her back to your home). OH, and have LOTS of clues. LOTS.
You know people tell me all the time what a hopeless romantic I am, but sometimes I just think I'm plain ol' hopeless.
I can't speak for her personal taste, but it sure it pretty!!

You want an engagement story......... it's been a long time but I was sitting on the edge of my bed at my apartment and Skip had come over to take me out. I was putting my shoes on..... he was watching me and then he pulled me almost off the bed and asked me to marry him. I said NO!
It wasn't until November and about a dozen more proposals later before I finally agreed....because my family loved him so much.
Now we are grandparents.........
Not very romantic but that's the way it went.

Felix - CONGRATULATIONS and good luck w/ your proposal plans.
Nothing came out right when I proposed to my fiance last year. Reserved a hotel room (had her thinking we were doing a weekend getaway for my birthday), had flowers set to be in the room when we walked in (note on the flowers were to say, "Marry me"), had expensive dinner reservations to celebrate afterwards. So anyway . . .
Got stuck in the worst traffic jam ever imaginable
Missed the dinner reservations
While stuck in traffic, my parents kept calling to see if I "did it yet". When I stopped picking up the phone, they started calling her phone (luckily she was sleeping)
When we finally got there (3 hrs late), the hotel forgot to bring the flowers up.
So, to make a long story short, we got up to the room, I had the flowers delivered right away and I got the delivery guy to take a picture of me down on one knee proposing to her. It actually turned out OK . . . except for the fact that we were starving.http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
Here's a couple pics of the ring and the shot by the flower dude (technically, it isn't a good photograph, but at least we have the momemt)

HAHAHAHAHA! I love it!! It sounds like you two were (and still are) very good friends. I'm so glad you (finally) said yes! It kind of makes me curious about the ring... WAS there a ring? I'm going to guess that the ring came later (am I right?) LOL!

We were actually quite poor so we had matching gold bands.
On our 10th anniversary, (actually 2 weeks prior as it was Christmas Day) Skip gave me a diamond eternity band along with a lovely note that said he would still do it all over again and that I was the love of his life. My whole family was there and it was really a big surprise. He had also previously, a few years earlier, bought me a diamond ring for my birthday.
Now I tell him no more jewelry for birthdays or anniversaries...... I want Camera Equipment instead!!! This year I got the 16-35mm lens:lol: :D :D

Oh man... that's love. I don't need to tell you that you're a lucky woman, Maureen. I'm not a flashy diamond ring kind of girl, but I do like the sparkles. Like Maureen, diamond eternity bands are more my style. Hey, I like them so much, I might even buy one for myself! haha! ;)
Mark: Great pictures!

Now, Felix, we are waiting to hear yours....... can't wait!
Mark: Give it a few years. Once she sees all the amazing photos you take of your trips, kids and other important things in your lives, you can ask (and receive) camera equipment too!

I love this thread. I am sure BE does too. He is already hinting for new camera equipment for his birthday, and he bought me new equipment for mine. (That suited me just fine).
As far as wedding news goes, gasp, I actually asked BE to marry me. I dont remember if he said yes or not, I just knew I wasnt letting him get away.He interviewed me for a job over 10 years ago and we have been together ever since. ( He does get a little nervous if I go on a job interview though). Now we spend all free time out taking pics.
