Well, my personal glass is starting to show it's age, I've been needing reading glasses for some time now to go along with my already off eyes. So I went to my eye doc today to ask about Multi-Plane contact lens.

He said it's a bit of a procedure to get the multi-plane contacts just right, but includes that about 25% of his patients using this method are exceedingly satisfied.

The other method he mentioned was Monovision, whereas the dominate eye gets the full power correction, and the weaker eye (he called it the reading eye) gets stopped-down, so to speak, in correction. Not perfect, but a way to get the individual to be able to read with reading glasses. He added 75% of his patients using this method are happy with the results. I chose to try this method.

My dominate left eye gets the full correction of -6.50, and my weaker right eye has been stopped-down in coreection to -5.00. I've had this setup in my noggn' for about 2 hours, and even though it seems a bit odd (like having one underpowered eye), it seems to be working!

I can actually read the text I am typing on my 1920x1200 computer display, without using reading glasses that I have had to in the past.

Tomorrow will be the real test, when I go back to work.

Just curious who out there in POTN land are using this "Monovision" method with contact lens to both see far, and be able to read without additional aid. How do you like "Monovision"? Likes, dislikes, experiences, anything!
