John's 69-1/2 440 six bbl Post Roadrunner (that's a mouthfull!). A Post car" has the B-pillar between the front & back seat windows.
It's a real VIN numbered "M" car which means it came with a lift-off hood. The color is Chrysler's "Vitamin C Orange".
It's got a 4-speed trans pushing a 4.10 Dana rear end.

I'm a huge muscle car fan, so that gets me all excited, thanks. The matte black Mopar hoods were so sharp. I think that the carbon fiber ricers just want to look like that!

Anyways, I am curious about the frame you put around the pictures of the car. I like how it's got the slightly darkened outline. It sets the car out a bit without intruding. I had to pay attention to see it. Nice touch.

I'm going to need to go to a show soon and snap a few.

Wouldn't that thing just fry those little taxi-cab tyres?

Thanks guys! I liked them all, but the Road Runners & Chargers just said "Muscle Car" even when they were sitting still! Anyways, I am curious about the frame you put around the pictures of the car. I thought I'd try something different. A Levels Adjustment Layer comes with a mask, so darken everything, then fill the center of the mask with black.

Great car to photograph and a great car to drive. I did a photoshoot for a magazine on one of those a few years back and got to drive it.

Well, some of them, the ones with a rear wing... but this Roadrunner from front and back (except for the front hood) looks everyday. From the side you can see mag wheels and 2 doors. Now a plain Camaro or a Mustang looks more sporty/muscly from any angle.

When the Muscle car was in it's heyday, the line up was GTO, Roadrunner, 442, GTX, big block Camaros and Mustangs, etc. The Camaro and Mustang were actually called "Pony" cars. YES, this Roadrunner equipped the way it is was the RAW definiition of a Muscle Car. Anybody that was involved in the Street Scene will immediately recognize this as fact. ;)

Hahaha! OK, DONE. ;)
In those days I was the Guy in the 67 442 with a little more under the hood than most folks expected, and guess what some of my favorite prey were? YUP, Mustangs and Roadrunners. ;)

:D That reminds me. Went to a Mustang Club Ghymkhana in Dearborn in '69 or '70 with my 'Cuda. (Ghymkhana = One at a time around a pylon course.)
My college buddy was there with his Mach 1, so I offered him a ride on my practice lap. Dumped the clutch & I heard this scream, "HOLY SH*T!" as I shifted into 2nd at about 50. Then just silence.
After, he withdrew.
I screwed up a bit in a hairpin & came in 2nd. & never had to hear about his Mustang again! :D:D:D

I'm sure you had a good laugh about it though. Past tense? Now that I remembered it, I'm STILL laughing about it! :D:D

Come to think of it, it was a Ford Motorsports Club event. Got a stinkin' little trophy I think they kept for non-club members, but shutting him up was worth it's weight in gold. ;)

Seems to be a slang problem here: muscle, sports, etc. I think what you have in mind with the term musclecar is what we called a 'sleeper': a 'regular guy' full size looking mild which was actually all out wild under the hood. Ah, memories.... going to the drive-in to watch Mel Gibson's Mad Max movie with his black primer beast?

I disagree. Here, a muscle car like the Roadrunner, Charger, 'Cuda, etc is never considered a sleeper. It just can't be! Like a Pit Bull shouldn't be considered "cuddly".
Sleeper was discussed this week in another thread, something like a primer patched, ratty looking Maverick with a 427 under the hood & a teddy bear in the back window. :D They gave a better definition, but you get the idea.

Ah, memories.... going to the drive-in to watch Mel Gibson's Mad Max movie with his black primer beast? Drive-Ins & Muscle Cars! That was a great time to grow up! (Something I'm still avoiding!) ;)
