Great! It's SO sharp!!!! Wow.....I felt as though I could Literaly jump in and start swimming. HOWEVER, I really would have liked to see the top of the mast :D LOL. Read my reply regarding yours on my boat......

I have no quarrel with the technical aspects of this shot.

But I am a bit of a romantic, and when when I see ships (I am a sailor) I want the photo to inspire me enough to recite one of Masefield's poems.

So while this is a great photo, it does not go quite far enough.

I think what Howie is saying is that the picture has too many distractions BEHIND the
main subject.

The trees, the roof of the shed, the name Northside Seafood,
more trees behind the flags, the cranes, electricity wires.....
all these features are distracting from the shrimp boat.

As an experimant, scroll the picture UP to just above the
bridge superstructure.
Although this is not a satisfactory composition, in this position
one can look at and admire the boat. Most of the distractions
are gone.

I think that where the boat is moored is just not a good place
to photograph it. When presented with a situation like this,
I tend to look for small features on the boat to try to
make interesting close-up pictures.... or try to get a boat
coming in or leaving....... and watch for busy backgrounds.
They wreck pictures.
