Hi everyone, firstly have to say that I love the site, has helped me alot as everyone seems to know what they are on about. :D

Canon EF 28-105mm f/4-5.6 USM

Popped into a local Camera shop yesterday and found this lense hiding in the back of the shop in the "used" section that I never knew existed. It is attached to a Canon EOS650 and they are asking AU$250 for it, will not sell separately. Looks clean, no fungus or marks on the lense and I have already read reviews on this lense but wanted to get some more feedback before I commit. Will be shooting mainly landscapes and storms\weather at first, maybe later some portraits. I am using my new 350D, isn't it a beauty. What do you think?

Is 28mm wide enough for you to shoot landscape? I prefer to have it wider. but might be a good deal, you can sell the eos650 on ebay or something. Besure to test the lens out at the store, make sure everything looks good.

Don't buy it!

Go for the 28-105/3.5-4.5 with the metal mount, it's much better. It goes for about £80 (UK Pounds) on ebay. In fact I sold a good copy for about that 6 weeks ago to help fund my new 28-135IS. And yes, I agree the 350D is superb, I've had one about 3 months now.
