I ordered two. I am sure they are going to cancel the orders. But what the hell right? It's not like I don't already have one. But if it is true then I can definately pass these on to some other photographers I know.

hahaha this is the only thing that we have going against us

With respect to items sold by Amazon.com, we cannot confirm the price of an item until you order; however, we do NOT charge your credit card until after your order has entered the shipping process. Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our catalog may be mispriced. If we discover a mispricing, we will do one of the following:

If an item's correct price is lower than our stated price, we will charge the lower amount and ship you the item.
If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Just be warned. I did this once with an online retailer for a $300 piece of software that was listed for $0. I figured I'd take advantage of the typo and order it (especially since it was free), and I printed screenshots and all. The confirm e-mail even stated that I did in fact pay nothing for the software. But a few days later the company called and said they had made a typo, and that they would give me the oppertunity to cancel my order or keep it for $15 off the original price of $300 (this was after I argued with them for a "compensation" discount) . I ended up buying it, but I just wanted to make it clear that all of you should be prepared to cancel your orders or pay full price.

I hope you guys get lucky though :)

Whats going on with this product ? I just looked at the link 10mins ago and it said $499, then I looked again a couple of mins ago and it said $79. I went just now to go look and see if they ship to Australia and was just asking the financial advisor(wife) about getting one and they were back at the $499.

Is this a scam or am I losing my mind lol. I'm too confused to buy one now

Really hope for those that did get an order in that everything works out well and you get your goods.

Mitcon
21st of July 2005 (Thu), 02:32
Thanks for clearing that up Jim.
I wouldn't have much use for a battery without the device to put it in.:D

Maybe those of you who placed an order should take heed to what Jim has said and either cancel it or speak directly with the company to resolve any problems. Still hope it all works out for the better for everyone in some way.

So there's gonna be either a slew of P-2000 batteries for sale soon, or the P-2000's themselves.... I'm up for one of the latter if there's a spare for sale at a reasonable price (no use for a battery on its own though!).

Hope you all get lucky :)

MSRphoto

Maybe it was suppose to be the battery -- but that isn't how it was sold. The ad clearly was for the P-2000 viewer. If they ship batteries instead, I'm sure they'll be paying for the postage to return them. Either that or they'll cancel the orders prior to shipping.

But maybe ....just maybe .... they'll honor their ad. Ritz's company profile on amazon contains this line "Our goal is to make sure you receive the best value for every purchase you make at RitzCamera.com. We want to be your number-one choice"

They'll get my vote for #1 alright. And according to Amazon ...my order shipped this morning. Guess we'll see.

Guardedly optimistic -- good luck all

Not saying im %100 that i will get the unit, but at the least they will call/email to negotiate.. If the battery shows up.. well I still have purchase protection on my card.. and amazon/ritz has too much overhead to try and stiff us into keeping a battery when the above is what was confirmed

Ritz called Amazon and told them of the mistake and to make the necessary changes. Ritz offered to ship the battery or sell me the 2000 for $489 with free shipping.

They will not ship the 2000 at this price
