Driving along the highway, saw a horse standing still in dam, chuck a U-turn, unpack EOS, open the door whilst setting ISO... you know what its like!! Then passing car hits the horn, I flash the camera to eye, but horse is spooked and a nice opportunity is ruined... some people have to ruin things.

Shot "from the hip" 135mm L, f2.8 100ISO, 1/1600th

The autofocus did its job, head is sharp. I wanted the background in blur, and I got it. The splash on the legs is maybe too soft however.

The dam is only 4 car lengths from the fence & road. When I first saw it - well it could've been a really nice pic - it was lovely blue sky day.

Here is a compressed version.

The same thing happened to me the other day just as I was focusing on a turkey vulture sitting on a fence post. I wanted to throw something at that car!

I think your photo is lovely, actually. Very natural with an alert subject.

Thx for that. What makes complete strangers do that? It must be the same people who litter, do graffiti and spit at the ground and put gum everywhere downtown.
