Help me understand this program. I cannot run it on my own computer to config the appearance and then upload it? It must all be uploaded to my server first - then I run the program off my server to configure it to my visual choices? Is this correct? This seems a bit over powering for a guy who started looking for a web gallery to upload images for cleints to proof. Can some one break this process down so a person who really just takes photos, uses photoshop and emails stuff can understand and use this program (if that's what it is). And then if I can understand how to use it etc. --- is there a way to have my logo and and email link on all the gallery pages? Thanks for any help - sorry for the basic questions.

Does your webserver support php and are you able to build mySQL databases. If the answer to either of these questions is no then EE is not for you. If however the answer is yes then there are many here who would be happy to help.

I would change to a web server who supports php, but I am unfamiliar with mySQL. Maybe I need to be more of a programer than a photographer to use EE. My assumption is that mySQL is something on a server and nothing I need to worry about - is that correct.

You'll need to be able to create a MyAQL database and add a user and then put thos detail into a config file. It's not hard to do, my server has an admin facaility to do this. I'm sure most of here are photographers rather than programmers
