Fireworks that is. We were lucky enough to be in Paris during Bastille Day. Here is a picture that I took. This is my first time taking fireworks pictures. Please let me know what you think.

apparently its illegal to take pictures of the eiffel tower...copyrighted or something. stupid french laws, typical!
maybe that explains why its not appearing...?

I heard about that a few days ago. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Illegal to take pictures form the Eiffel Tower. Wow doesn't the government have anything better to do?

I do not think it is illegal to take images of the Eiffel Tower at night for your own personal use. If you try to sell the images, then there is a problem. The lighting design is copyrighted, and such a copyright gives the designer the right to control its appearance in other media.

I would say take pictures, post them, share them - do not sell them or use them in advertisements. However, maybe a lawyer could clarify this.

What are these stupid suppositions about french laws and the copyrighted Tour Eiffel ?
The link to Kodak's site can't be leeched (now who are paranoid?).

Try this from a plain internet session and you're done:

Well, I did not realize that you could not use a tripod to take pictures outside of the Louvre. Yes, I said outside. I did not quite understand that.

I took heaps of the Eiffel Tower a few months back....walked all over the place for 2 hours & made no effort to hide the camera. No-one challenged me at all however i am very ugly.

LOL.

A policeman came up to me just to tell me to be carefull of people stealing. I had the tripod set up and everything. I think it is only if you sell without express written consent.

I just came back from Europe a week ago. I took lots of shots of the Tower with and without tripod. Nobody ever approached me or challenged my photographing it. I will be sure to post some shots soon!

LOL.
