what resolution...?

Hi all,

what's the ideal file size / resolution for a flash (slideshow) gallery website?

I've uploaded about 20 pics to each gallery, and due to slow loading size saved at a low resolution (around 50 kbs per file). This has lead to a loss of quality, (as I knew it would) but, a faster loading time.

Can anyone suggest an ideal file size so that there is a fast load time and no quality compromise.

I upload mine at 72dpi, and 600x 400 which work out at just under 200kb each file. They seem to load fine, anything bigger may cause it to load slow

Edit: I save them via PS 'save for web' as jpegs at 12 quality
