Hi I recently purchased a Canon Ixus 430 which is a small camera that I love dearly. However I was hoping to try out some new lenses like maybe a macro lens or something, but realising that it isn't possible to remove the existing lens in this model, I am wondering if it is at all possible to purchase some kind of attachment or mount that fits the camera in order to attach standard lenses??
I would really appreciate it if you guys could shed some light on the issue for me as I am totally new to the game.
Regards,
Swamp.

Hmm, did a quick search on the web for lens adapters, but did not come up immediately with one for the Ixus.
There are several out there for various models.
I have one for my S45 that I got from CKCpower (http://www.ckcpower.com). You might try sending an email to Tom there asking about the mounts he has and if any of them will fit the ixus style.
Don't let the looks of the site put you off, he is legit and does deliver as he promises.

Swampcore - Try a google at Cookin filters and lenses. They have magnetic attachments for your camera.
I have a IXUS 500 and bought me a magnetic Teleconverter add on lens for it.
But does the IXUS 430 not yet have a good macro setting like the IXUS 500?
Good luck ... :)

Thanks for the info eastcoast909, I dropped them an email asking about it.
Also thanks to Salleke. Did you mean a "Cokin" adapter, instead of a "Cookin" one? I found a website that stock a lot of Cokin adapters, maybe they can help.
Regards,
Richard.

Swampcore - Here is a link to the Cokin website in France. There you can search for a distributor in your country: http://www.cokin.fr/ico12-AN-p1.html
Look around at this website and see the system for magnetic add on lens systems for several digicams. Look at the home page for the right info.
Good luck.

I had both the tele and WA when I had just my Ixus 400 (I've now got dslr too.) Their lenses are called magnefix and the tele is good. The WA is atrocious, a real piece of junk. The centre 50% of the image is clear and the rest is very blurred. In fact the clear bit with it fixed is a narrower field of view than the standard lens! Avoid!. I have samples of the images.
