What lens to buy??

Hello,

Well, I decided to go with the D10. Now I am in the lens stage.

I shoot a lot of products, mostly jewelry. And I am a weekend photo warrior. My main camera is a Sony DSC-D700 and it has a fix lens so I did not have to worry about this issue.

Well I need to find a very good lens to fit my all-round purpose and hobby without draining my bank account.

Any comments.

Not sure how close you need to get but the 50mm f/2.5 macro might be handy. I like shooting wide so my 17-35 gets a lot of use but with the 1.6x factor its not really very wide on a D60/10D. A good all around lens might be a 24-70 f/2.8. Canon mades one for around $1300 or there's a Sigma for arond $400.

My favorite lens has become my 50mm f/1.4 with the 85mm f/1.8 being a close second.

By the way, its a "10D" not a D10.

I will look into the Sigma lens. I have heard that they are very good lens.
