I'm not too sure how big this attachment will show up here. I find that reducing the sizes of my files to suit the format are giving me real thumbnails. Here goes.

Too small. Looks like a neat picture though. Resize it to make the long side 800 pixels. That should work.

Looks like a good shot, but it's barely a thumbnail..

For sizing, you shouldn't go smaller than 640x480... As RTMiller says, 800 pixesl wide is a good size.

When you save the image, choose save as.. You should have a 'quality' setting for JPEG.. Choosing a lower quality will make the image smaller without making a big difference in how it looks on the screen...

I'd like to see a larger image.. (I visited S.A and the N.T a couple of years back) :)

If you are using Photoshop, try this:

It's a little tutorial I made specially for this forum.
I don't know for sure sinds I don't own it, but I think it is the same for elements

hope I could help

Ja, too small, but it reminds me of how pretty my home country can be, so thanks :)

Thanks guys. There is another way of doing this and I've used it before. In the June 2005 issue of Digital Photography Made Easy,(Australian pulication) there is a freebie CD that has a free programme called 'Send Photos Gold'. Using that programme you pick a photo (or photos) from your DBase and it automatically downsizes them ready for e-mailing. You can even frame them, especially for sending special occasion shots. Anyway, I have found that if I grab a dozen or so shots and put them into SPG and send them to myself, I can then re-capture them at the smaller file size without losing any detail or image size. So - later on I'll do that with the stuff I'd like to share with you on this great site. Cheers from Oz.

Nice shot. I'll have to head on down the the Flinders for some special shots.
WE have some fantastic scenery in outback Australia. I hope to make the most of my time out here.

Yeah, beautiful place there. I used to camp there for one week 20 years ago. I would love to go back again in the future. Are you sure you can't post a larger size FotOz? Please please... http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif
