These were taken during my second waterfall trip in Michigan's UP. I just got back a few weeks ago. The shots below are of the Yellow Dog River Falls, the first set of falls I visited during this trip.

Taken with a 350D, 18-55mm kit lens, Circular Polarizer, around f/22 and 1/10-1/13 shutter speed. I needed an ND filter but I did not have one for hte 58mm lens so I compensated with the apeture.

These are really pretty. Get yourself 1 stop and 2 stop ND filters to allow really slow shutter speeds. I use mine a lot.

When I got this new camera I ordered some filters and totally forgot about the 58mm ND filter. They are on the top of my shopping list. Without them it is nearly impossible to not over expose the water. Closing down the lens too far also makes the image look too flat in my opinion. I think I would have prefered a more shallow DOF.

thanks for the great comment. I have some others waterfalls from the trip, but the lighting wasn't nearly as good. It is difficult when you don't know which way (east or west) the falls face. Almost always takes two trips.
