HELLO EVERYONE I AM NEW TO THE SITE AND SEMI NEW TO PHOTOGRAPHY... WOULD LOVE FOR YALL TO GIVE ME SOME IDEAS, POINTERS, ETC FOR MY SHOTS...

I AM USING A CANON XS BODY, 50MM 1.8F CANON LENS, ALSO HAVE 18-55 AND 50-250 LENSES... I LIKE TO DO PORTRAIT STYLE AND HAVE THE SUPER BLURRY BACKGROUND.. EXCUSE MY NEWBNESS ON TERMS.. I THINK THATS CALLED DEPTH OF FIELD... BUT I WOULD LOVE TO SPEAK WITH SOME OF YOU GUYS THAT ARE DOING THESE AMAZING PHOTOS ON THIS SITE... HERE IS A SAMPLE OF MY WORK.. THANKS FOR YOUR RESPECT AND HOPE I CAN GET SOME GREAT RESPONSES..

Hey Brad, 1st and foremost, welcome to the forum! You look like you have two awesome models to help out.

I'm not sure why, but both images look a touch out of focus? I like the second shot ALOT, but I'd watch to make sure the background isnt so busy the next time you have your models posed.

The shallow depth of field you're refering to is also called Bokeh, and will make your subject jump out like it does in the second photo

Best advice I can give is to keep that camera in your hand 24/7 and shoot as much as you can. Since its digital, you can always delete the stuff you dont like, but once you start to find your style, figure out why you like it and what settings you're using to create that style....then practice till you're shutter finger swells up

With a model like that, it's not like you're going to get bored anytime soon:D

When writing please use lower case as writing like you have means your shouting, thanks.;)

Both photos have good colour and detail but a little soft..:)

HA HA THANKS PAT... NOT REALLY INTO THE MODEL.. IM A MARRIED MAN.. SHE IS JUST A FRIEND.. MOST OLDER EXPIRENCED PHOTOGRAPHERS THINK IM JOKING AROUND IM JUST 24 YRS OLD BUT I WANT TO LEARN TO DO THIS... BUT ITS NOT A PROFESSION.. JUST A HOBBY... THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HELP WITH SUGGESTIONS AND I WILL DEF KEEP THEM IN MIND... I DO SEE WHAT YOUR SAYING ABOUT THE BACKGROUND BEING BUSY... AND THANKS FOR POINTING THAT OUT TO ME... Yea, thank goodness your writing in lowercase. But big case IS FUN :D
The focus is a little off, but still loving it. And what adorable pitties!
