Edit 07/14/07: For those who may wander by, stop in and say hello :D We are a friendly, albeit odd, bunch and welcome any and all.

That's all good though, Cat - savor the days like that. There are too many when there isn't enough room for all of them.
Amen to that.
We are trying to work out how to help a hoarding situation right now, where the woman lost her home. We may be getting a flood of dogs/puppies in the next week.
And I get a special case from the shelter here too on Monday (If he doesn't get adopted over the weekend). I'm looking forward to that. SO maybe it's good I didn't have any fosters come home with me today. :)

RANT *hates Credit card company right now. Made a payment the day I got the statement, and it went into limbo - then I go charged a late fee. When I called to dispute the charge, I was asked to put my mother on the phone to gain permission to speak to me. I told her that it was my account not my mother's, and that my mother has nothing to do with this account and never had. It turns out that when you make your payment the day the statement is issued, they consider it an extra payment, and not credited towards the amount due, thereby making it late. Spoke to a supervisor, late fee should be removed, and I need to make my payments at least 2 days after the statement is sent to my email* RANT OVER - although I am still not happy with them. The original person was a PITA and did not want to listen to what I was saying.

Nice move, Jon.
Cat, kumquats are small, look like a tiny pearish/oval shaped orange (about the size of two marbles stuck together. You eat them skin and all...the skin is thinner than tangerine skin. They are not too tart and not too sweet (a wonderful balance btw. the two). Such a refreshing summer snack and full of vitamin C.

They are in a no-kill shelter, so they are safe. Not ideal... but not in danger.
If Arctic Rescue will take them, it would be ideal. We would do the transport.
And Vikki looks so much like our Keeya and Obi.
With this being the third dog we've pulled that looks like this, I'm wondering if it's a specific breed, rather than a Catahoula/Aussie mix like we're thinking.

How big is Ben? Looks like a flat coated collie. We were trying to decide what kind of dog he might be. He's small... not as big as a lab. He's very underweight, but I would guess at proper weight he would be about a 50lb dog.
Oops. Edit that. I was thinking you were talking about Taylor. His name was Ben when we pulled him. LOL. We had to rename him, because we couldn't have 2 Bens at the same time. He didn't respond to his name, where the other Ben did. So he got his changed.
Ben is on the large side for a Border Collie, but he's overweight.

I know, but will now wait until a couple of days after I get the statement to pay it, instead of paying it early.
Thanks everyone for letting me rant a bit about that credit card. This is the first time that I have had a problem, and although it took a bit of badgering (and most of you know me and how quiet I am) but the charge should be removed by next week (Three business days).

Some new photos of our little Paxton:
He's got a vet appt in the AM to take care of some things we're worried about (lumps and bad skin, among other things). He'll get neutered too if he doesn't have any infections.
Poor little guy. I hate getting them neutered when they seem so frail to start with.

They suck, glad it is sorted out.
Zane - just got to watch the video - WOW! Some of those jumps!
And do they have some of those fancy looking ones (like the cannon) for the horse or the spectators?I know, incredible. The idea is to have a horse that is confident and trusts the rider to go over anything. They make the jumps scary for both competitor and spectator. The canon jump made my heart flip more than most anything out there. There is a huge psychological factor to jumping. A high, "airy", jump like that is harder for me than say a solid wall of the same size. A flat wall is more scary than a sloped one. A thick timber wall is different than a thin brush one. By mixing it up they really challenge horse and rider. Also from that camera angle things looked smaller than they are. Those are some huge jumps.
Thought I'd look at some shots from last year.
[Love these :)
