Well I ddi not see the Zoo sign at first.. this guy looks tough.

Looks fat and happy - nice pose! It does illustrate, however, the great difficulty of taking photos of black bears. The problem is they are so..well...BLACK!

I've taken a few shots of them in the wild and some by flash at night fairly close up in my back yard (from an upper deck or window) but on the night shots they just seem to absorb all the light and show up as a bear-shaped black hole in the image.
