I received my 10D last night only to find a good-sized pit in the LCD. Also a small white dot (about 1mm) is apparent when the screen becomes illuminated. Very disappointed but I might be able to rub out the pit, anyone have a sujestion regarding the illuminated dot? I think its going back.
Thanks,
Sanford

Did you get to test it yet? How is the A/F system? I have 2 units on order and cant wait to give them the low light test. I hope it works as advertised in low light and not the same D60 crap. Good luck and you should see if canon can send you a replacement unit. Or you may be waiting for weeks or months for a new 10D. Good luck and have a great day.

Well, I'm sitting waiting to be called for my dental appointment, writing this on my samsung I330.
Anyhow, my first impressions of the 10D are.... Nice! Focus problem solved, works great!
The biggest improvement at first glance is the housing- its solid! Feels like a REAL camera.
The bad. Pitted LCD, white pin dot displayed while the LCD is illuminated. Also, I quickly shot a few raw images, pulled the card, tried to open them w/ the old software and couldn't open them - granted I only spent about 5min., and yes all the files were in the right places. Maybe it requires the new software, hard to believe!
