Here is a capture of my daughter. I really couldn't get the color version to look like I wanted, so I gave it the sepia treatment. Would true B/W be better? I've attached the original capture as well.
C & C appreciated.

I can see why the color photo was kind of an issue. Her hair has a similar color to the wood around her. The sepia looks nice here..it creates a nice contrast between the wood and her hair color. I've attached the B&W version of this photo..and for the original warm feeling of it the sepia just looks better. It looks like you have a good subject to follow for a while too...

Thanks for the comments, she is photogenic - when I can keep her eyes from wandering away from the camera.
I agree about the sepia vs B/W. I just wanted to know if I was alone in that opinion.

I think a different crop might yield a better colour photo... if you rotated slightly so as to make the ledge in the treehouse thing level, then cropped so it's like a "window" shot including some of the surrounding frame of the treehouse, that might look quite nice with a chunk of blue sky...
